Academy student returns to tutor
01 Jun 2013
Beauty Therapy student Teresa McCourt completed her training in February 2013 after a very successful Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ. Throughout her training Teresa showed particular skill and dedication to her future, a dedication which was recognised and awarded with the Student of the Year award in our Brunswick Street, Belfast campus. From achieving the accolade Teresa went on to complete her NVQ Level 3 and continued working at LA Beauty throughout her training.
However her success continued! As a testament to the hard work, dedication and level of skill that Teresa exemplified during her training, Hilary Kearney (Centre Manager, Brunswick Street, Belfast) offered Teresa a position as Assistant Tutor in The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School. Teresa was delighted to accept and is now firmly placed as a new member of the teaching team at our Brunswick Street, Belfast and Ballymena campuses. In her new role Teresa has begun shadowing the work of other tutors and has begun completion of her Assessors Award.

As well as working in The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School, Teresa has continued her work at LA Beauty, the same salon she worked in during her NVQ training. This is further evidence of the professionalism and hard work she demonstrated during her training and another sign of her success. During her interview with Hot Gossip, Teresa revealed how much she enjoyed working in The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School and how interesting it was to have been able to see the training school from both sides, as a student and now as a tutor. She is delighted that she is in a position to give current students a unique insight into the training and offer tips and techniques to make it easier for them.
