Cancer Research UK
25 Jun 2012
Students from The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School pulled out all the stops during this year's 'Pink Week', raising much needed funds for Cancer Research UK. Across the hair and beauty training campuses in Belfast, Ballymena and Newry, students arranged ballot prizes, held a collection in Belfast City Centre and undertook a sponsored silence and other sponsored activities. They also organised a bun sale and got a bit too enthusiastic with the wax and spatulas. No pain, no gain...

Beauty students show off their culinary skills for the Bun Sale...YUMMY!! |

Ballymena students and staff who got involved in the fundraising |

Hair Stylist from Shek salon, Jordan Henry, volunteers to have his legs waxed for charity...think he looks a teeny bit scared... |
Maybe Jordan got put off by the look of pain on the face of Academy student Curtis Nicholl...all in aid of a good cause Curtis! |

So far the fundraising efforts have raised a total of £1047!! However the amount is increasing each day as students continue to raise money from the many sponsored activities organised.
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO GOT INVOLVED!!!
